West Coast's Environmental Citizenship Program builds awareness
of environmental law issues in BC, and through legal education
empowers the BC public to engage in environmental decision-making.
West Coast accomplishes these goals through lectures, community
outreach workshops, publications and interactive websites. Our
publications cover a range of topics including guides to
international environmental law, local government law and dealing
with strategic lawsuits aimed at squelching public participation.
Our soon to be launched BC Guide to Biodiversity and Watershed
Protection is an interactive website which provides vital
information on law and planning processes that citizens and
community groups can use to protect their local environment. Our Building
Bridges Project
is a unique outreach program to provide our
legal services in ways appropriate to the Chinese speaking
communities of BC.
